“We loved the setting, the quiet spots to relax overlooking the lush greenery of the Algarve. The staff were extremely efficient and polite and the food top quality. The animals and turtles were an extra bonus. We enjoyed swimming in the outdoor pool. Highly recommended.”

“Beautiful hotel . But the bar beside the reception the noise that is can be heard in the actual hotel rooms . When you have an early start and the noise is still going on at 1am it is quite frustrating . The rooms are in a circular direction and the sound travelled the whole way through the hotel and we were on the the 5th floor .. ”

“Lovely hotel, really welcoming and great pool. Outdoor heated pool isn’t really warm in April some warmer water running into it but not all the time. Otherwise great space in apartment for kids and breakfast! ”

“Excellent hotel and staff. Location is good, a few minutes to the marina and old town. The rooms were spacious and the kitchenette was a bonus if you wanted to make breakfast etc. staff are nice and helpful, they helped us book a private tour for 8 of us as the others were fully booked. Free tea, coffee and hot chocolate was a great idea, we would usually meet up in the breakfast room and have a coffee before heading out. Would definitely recommend the Roots Hotel. ”

“Loved the location. All staff very friendly and helpful. Lots to choose from at Breakfast. We left early and would miss breakfast, but was given a bag full of breakfast bits to go...nice touch. The only downside was the swimming pool, beautiful pool but absolutely freezing...such a shame.”

“Boutique hotel in the quiet town of Olhao, roof top pool and bar, small but very well done with a few sunbeds, and seating. No dining at hotel apart from breakfast, but lots of restaurants with a 10 minute walk. Some of the standard rooms are pretty small for 2 people and luggage, so might be worth upgrading for a bit more space. Taxis are very affordable to get to Faro airport and train stations.”
