“What a lovely experience. Fairway Guesthouse was sublimely superb. As a location with an absolutely stunning view of the golf course overlooking the sea and Durban cityscapes, as well as the absolutely wonderful friendly service, that simply made us feel home away from home. The continental breakfasts were yummy and different - croissants with scrambled eggs and bacon and we even got home made flapjacks!!! “Back for a second year. The property is a beautiful house in North Durban, near a small shopping area. My bedroom was very large and well-appointed, with a large bathroom attached. This year, things are not quite as new and well-maintained as last year. I enjoyed meeting other Comrades runners staying at the house, this year including elites. The best thing about this house is the housekeeper Nklaka, who is unbelievably friendly, caring and efficient.”

“Our best stay in South Africa by far. We stayed for 6 days. So sad to leave. Sandy looked after us and nothing was too much trouble. Our spacious room opened onto a terrace overlooking a beautiful pool and garden area. A great breakfast. Staff were excellent always smiling, in a great leafy quiet residential area and only a 5 minute walk to many shops and restaurants. We will be back when we return to South Africa ”

Fabulous service at every turn from the lovely first aiders to the friendly and professional pool staff, to the polite and charming front desk staff . But as ever the icing on this fabulous cake were George and his team and Leon in The Grill.
