“Hotel owner very friendly”

“This is an old-fashioned tavern with an inn. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, as were the local patrons. The included breakfast consisted of fresh fruits, cured meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, toast, juice, milk, etc. We ate dinner at their restaurant the night we arrived and it was tasty traditional English food. I had a very nice fish and chips while my wife had a delicious meat pie. The beds were a bit soft for my liking, but I slept comfortably. I could do without the green……

“The hotel was welcoming and the room was spacious, and comfortable, if a little stuffy. It was at the top of the building and the windows would only open a little. The room would have been less stuffy had the windows been opened before we arrived, and the blinds drawn. It was clean, and the linen was all good. All in all, a pleasant stay.”

“Staff were a delight the entire stay. Room (1) was beautiful and clean, with windows on 3 sides (excellent for a breeze), lovely roll top bed, comfy mattress and very nice modern bathroom. Bathrobes were a nice touch. Ate at the hotel Saturday night and it was superb. Scotch egg was delicious, pork fabulous and the pizza was gorgeous. Excellent wine selection and utterly superb soft drink (bottles in the fridge) range. Breakfast was really good. Yoghurt, fruits and cereal, then cooked……

“Shower no hot water first day then for the other two days water warm but not not much above a dribble.The food and the restetaunt were excellent as were the staff.The bedrooms need an upgrade.”

“The staff were young and very good. Was very busy for them but kept on top of restaurant. Bar was busy and could have done with extra staff. Overall the stay was nice. ”

“The family suite was a great option for our trip. 2 teenage girls loved their room and we had a fab main-bedroom with superking bed. Bathroom was well equipped - the shower was so very nice - powerful and warm. We enjoyed spending time in the bar / lounge where premium drinks were offered. The team were on hand to help with any requests we may have had. The breakfast offer was really well enjoyed - cooked fresh with personalisation welcomed. We will definitely be back as it gave us access to……
