“Middle of nowhere yet middle of most places we wanted to visit so was an ideal base. Staff were hospitable and generous and served the best hot chocolate around.”

“I was on a short break away, walking in the area out of season in winter. I arrived at the hotel weary, and was greeted by staff with a really warm welcome. I sat down in the beatiful lobby area next to a roaring fire, with a drink before checking in. The room was beatifully decorated with Thai style furniture and pictures, but was full of house period features & a modern bathroom room with roomy shower. Comfy bed, tasty food for breakfast. “Cant fault the manager's or staff 10/10 for service and friendliness. The bar areas were clean and had character with the odd bit of quirkiness thrown in. We had two breakfasts and evening meals. Both had great choices and were a few notches up on the usual pub grub. Quality local produce, cooked and presented well. There is a chef in the kitchen. Unfortunately the accommodation wasn,t up to the same standard. The room was spacious and clean but the quality of the furniture was very poor. The……

“A great two day stay in Kent, mainly to go for a tour on the Balfour Winery. A nice and cosy inn in the English country side, just as it says on the tin. We will be back for more exploring in the future I am sure. ”
