“Lovely location for a stay in Royal Tunbridge Wells. We were on the top floor, 5 levels of very narrow and winding stairs, no lift. It was manageable but a little annoying. Staff were friendly. The room is quite small but sufficient. It was cold with a draft from the windows, often rattling in the wind. We also discovered a very large wet patch in the wall and floor in one corner, which we did mention upon check out. This is a major issue that needs addressing. We received an apology but nothing……

“The Russell Hotel is a good place to stay very close to Royal Tunbridge Wells amenities and attractions. We stayed here because we were going on the Spa Valley Railway Cheese Train on the Saturday afternoon and the hotel was an close enough to walk everywhere. ”

“3 of us stayed in the 3 single bed family room on a room only basis the room was extremely clean with en suite shower room. The beds were very comfortable tea and coffee was supplied and when we needed more milk they bought us more. The room also had doors out to a little patio area overlooking a pool with fish and a lawn beyond.”

“It was comfortable & room quiet after a long drive. service was reasonable considering the staff were stretched during an afternoon party. People were generally pleasant and did well. Pity no food on offer on a Sunday night but since it was a central location there was plenty on offer locally.”

“The heating needs to stay on longer in the morning. The late check out needs to be specified and charges paid before you stay. Otherwise a great place to stay”

“I was on a short break away, walking in the area out of season in winter. I arrived at the hotel weary, and was greeted by staff with a really warm welcome. I sat down in the beatiful lobby area next to a roaring fire, with a drink before checking in. The room was beatifully decorated with Thai style furniture and pictures, but was full of house period features & a modern bathroom room with roomy shower. Comfy bed, tasty food for breakfast. What made it for me was the excellent staff,……
