“The Eagles Nest at the Blue Heron Resort on Diamond Lake is not for everyone but we loved it. I say not for everybody in part because you need to take a series of stairs including nearly 30 steps to reach the cabin from the parking space provided. While we (both in our 70's) didn't have a problem, others may well prefer few stairs. The cabin is also not fancy or modern and has a few quirks including a noticeable slant towards the lake. “We had such a delightful time at this cabin just a couple of minutes from the slopes at Caberfae for closing weekend. The cabin had everything we needed to cook and cozy up for the week. We were also only 30ish mins from crystal for the weekdays. The beds were super comfy and we had a wonderful time. Dory was super fair and a great communicator throughout our stay. As other reviews stated, though it backs up to woods, it is in a neighborhood. But there is a decent amount of seclusion.
