“Our room was more spacious than expected. We had the top floor room, which was perfect for our family of four. Like all of Venice, the building was very old and a large supporting beam ran through the shower. It was fine for us, but could be difficult for someone tall. The view of the canal and the small piazza below was incredible! We had eveything we needed and the location was perfect. ”

“We had a great stay in Venice and this cozy apartment suited our family of 4 well. It is a 3rd floor walkup in a secluded courtyard, unfortunately there isn't much of a view (probably typical in Venice!). It's a fair walk from Rialto water taxi, so pack lightly. The hosts were super accommodating and were great communicators. ”

“Our stay at Casa Delle Ortensie was great. Fantastic location on the main street of Venice. Apartment was actually really quiet eventhough the main street was full of people. I highly recommend this to everyone. I reccommend max 4 persons. We stayed there for 3 nights.”

“If you are looking to spend time in a quiet authentic neighborhood in Venice, this is your place! It was fun to see the kids go to school and all meet up afterwards to hang out near the bridge! It is quiet but close to many restaurants, shops and a grocery store. It is located right on the canal on the first floor. “This place has everything you need. It is in a convenient location for travel to and from the airport as well as the trains/busses. ”

“The hotel is close to the Mestre station, about a 5-10 min walk. There is a side entrance to platform 1 directly, you don’t need to go through the main entrance of the station, which is a bit further away. There are a few hotels and restaurants nearby. “This apartment exceeded our expectations. Delightfully modern inside but in a building that’s hundreds of years old. Beautiful art work and decor. Access with door codes made coming and going very easy and having an aqua bus stop steps away from the front entrance. You can take the aqua bus directly from the train/bus terminal. Had a nice stay in Venice!

"Absolutely loved this hotel! The location is fantastic – just steps from the boat dock, making getting around Venice a breeze. The staff were so friendly and always ready to help. Plus, it has a charming retro feel with its key and room decor. And don't even get me started on the delicious continental breakfast! Highly recommend."

Smelly bathroom

"Bathroom stinks with smell of urine. Can hear everything in the hallway/next door. Location is okay with walking distance to train/bus station. But the unbearable smell was a real deal breaker. Their family room is clean and ok; Try getting family room, or never."
