“Amazing stay. I traveled with 2 other young women (ages 21,21,20) and we felt incredibly safe the entire time. We ended up staying in the banana house, which is actually a seperate villa across a little road from the main part of the hotel, however it was gated, and this gate could be locked. The apartment itself was also gorgeous. The property is one of the few at this price range with a connecting beach, being on playa negra. It is around a 5 minute ride (15 minute walk) from puerto viejo city……

“Without Google we would have had a hard time finding it! In our room there was a shrieking noise which we assume was from the water system - it seemed to be connected to the toilet which sometimes did not flush well. We reported it at the desk when we left - really just a minor concern. Overall we had a very pleasant stay there. Liked the restaurant having tables on the beach - shades of "Death in Paradise" on the TV!”

“It's a great place to crash if you are traveling. If you are staying for more than two days I would book something nicer, but it was perfect for what we needed, and the staff is super friendly.”

“El hotel presenta vieja estructura, lo cual no esta mal si le dieran el mantenimiento adecuado. Lo malo es que el agua no llega con la adecuada presion a la ducha en la segunda planta del hotel, lo que tomar un baño fue demasiado difícil y se demoro bastante tiempo. El area del sanitario parecia que se estaba callendo, ya que el piso estaba quebrado y al estar en segunda planta, se inclino considerablemente hacia un lado. A la hora del desayuno, se tuvo que esperar 1 hora y media para que este……

“Tortuga Lodge was an amazing stay. The staff was incredibly friendly. The tours available were fun, informative, and worth it! The staff was very helpful in helping us schedule our tours. Definitely recommend. A quick note. Transportation by boat is very difficult after hours. While the staff was able to connect us with a private transfer, it took alot of communication. ”

“This was such a great hotel, I got the best experience out of it. Raquel and Alejandro attended to every need, they were super sweet. I’m glad I stayed here and I’d def come back.
