“We have stayed at the Elkader Jail House many times and the Harstad Suite is a great room for the 4 of us. The large kitchen and family space on the first floor provide plenty of space for everyone to get together and relax. Its nearby my family and takes the stress off anyone needing to make space for all of us to sleep. Its comfortable, clean and an easy to walk downtown. We'll be back soon!”

“Truly a "getaway" in a peaceful setting. Host is nearby, if needed, in a beautiful historic farmhouse, but our stay felt quite "private" nonetheless. Very spacious lodgings in The Shouse would easily accommodate larger family groups. TV viewing space and game-playing space for all. ”

“Had a wonderful cozy stay at this cabin! The best part was the trail that followed the road. My kids loved the sunroom! I was initially hoping for a rental without WI-FI but my husband had to work and my kids are officially addicted so was happy to see that all amelrked out in the end. .”

“This place is a true gem and the hosts are wonderful including leaving us a homemade treat to enjoy on our trip! The pictures don't do it justice, they have thought of everything. The place was so comfortable and the blankets so cozy. It fit our family perfectly and was just outside of town.
