“The cabin was cozy and accommodating. We had a great family trip. There is a perfect little hill in the front that the children used for sledding. Many great memories were made.”

“We had a beautiful, peaceful, cozy fall weekend at this cabin. The location is stunning next to the lake and across the street from hiking trails. The cabin had everything we needed and was quite comfortable. The only caveat is that it abuts a road with aggressive drivers so I did not feel comfortablet letting my dog off leash. Other than that, ideal. I will definitely be back! ”

It felt like you out in the countryside yet the cute village of Sandy Hook along with Newtown restaurants and shopping were less than 10 minutes away.”

“We had a great time at Highland Lake. The apartment was so comfortable, and larger than I would have thought from the description. It was convenient to town - the teens loved access to DQ, pizza shops, etc just a few minutes away. There were kayaks and a paddleboat we could borrow, which I somehow missed in the description - nice pluses! The lake access from the dock was perfect. We brought stand-up paddleboards, and had an easy time launching them and exploring the lake. In the apartment,……

“We enjoyed three nights at the cottage. It's beautifully decorated, comfortable, warm and welcoming - a perfect home base for nearby hikes and exploring the area. The large yard was perfect for playing soccer with our child. Renters note: we also had a fabulous meal at nearby restaurant Fern. ”

Waking up to views of the lake every morning, watching flocks of birds travel on the water and being surrounded by nature was all we could ask for. The house has all amenities provided in the kitchen, bathrooms etc. Location is convenient near shops, grocery, and restaurants in New Fairfield. The hosts were very responsive in communication and I appreciated them providing everything we needed. ”
