“A short stay on the way to Devon for our anniversary. The hotel Good breakfast well cooked and good choice of cerials, fruit etc. Decor a little tired and dated needing a refresh The carpets in the room, stairs and coridors need deep cleaning or replacement. ”

“Checked in very speedily. Room was good. Breakfast was delicious. Right near the A30 for onward travel to Cornwall. ”

“This is an old-fashioned tavern with an inn. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, as were the local patrons. The included breakfast consisted of fresh fruits, cured meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, toast, juice, milk, etc. We ate dinner at their restaurant the night we arrived and it was tasty traditional English food. I had a very nice fish and chips while my wife had a delicious meat pie. The beds were a bit soft for my liking, but I slept comfortably. I could do without the green……

“The pub had a rather tired feel. Didn't do evening meals on Sundays as they have a Quiz Night. Breakfast was excellent and really enjoyable.”

“Staff were a delight the entire stay. Room (1) was beautiful and clean, with windows on 3 sides (excellent for a breeze), lovely roll top bed, comfy mattress and very nice modern bathroom. Bathrobes were a nice touch. Ate at the hotel Saturday night and it was superb. Scotch egg was delicious, pork fabulous and the pizza was gorgeous. Excellent wine selection and utterly superb soft drink (bottles in the fridge) range. Breakfast was really good. Yoghurt, fruits and cereal, then cooked……

“Lovely country pub with loads of character. Located in a small village, in an isolated, quiet location. Warm welcome from the Land Lady and Scrappy Do. Friendly and helpful staff. Stayed two nights, room clean and comfortable with tea/coffe and TV. Free wifi, useful as there was no phone signal. Ate at the pub both nights, tasty, reasonably priced food. Recomend the Venison pie with a glass of red. Overall, an excellent stay, definately recommend. Will be staying again when back in the area.”
