“We really enjoyed our stay at Norma’s classic farmhouse. It was so welcoming and cozy, we settled right in. Our hosts were super friendly and easy to communicate with, we felt like we have known them. We had some really nice days to hike the trails nearby and quiet evenings by the fire pit. You are tucked away on a mountain so cell service is a little spotty but their wi-fi worked great. Short drive to conveniences and food but stock up and enjoy the charm inside. We would stay again anytime and……

“Wonderful trip in THE most perfect house. 2 families with 3 young kids with ample space and every amenity you could want. Days spent at the lake front, grilling over open fires, fishing (very successfully) off the dock, paddle boarding, and pontoon boat hire from the very competent Tyler at Beacon Boat rentals. Barb was the perfect hostess and gave us great tips, including nesting eaglets at one of the small islands. Thanks for a great stay, we’ll defo be back!”

“Chip and Kathy were wonderful hosts!! The home is even better than the pictures! There are SO many thoughtful touches. We fell in love with local attractions like Farmington and Quill Hill. My one small critique would be a little too much in person communication with the owners at tricky times. My daughter and I were in the car for 13 hours and arrived at 9:30 pm eager to unpack, eat and go to sleep. Chip and Kathy asked to meet us when we arrived (which I've never experienced through vrbo). ……

“Hosts are wonderful people. Very kind, understanding and effective communication. The house is as shown in the photos, very comfortable. I felt right at home. I have a rear wheel drive so I had some difficulty going up and down that hill in winter but the hosts tried their best to keep the driveway clear of snow and ice and if you have a front wheel/ all wheel drive then you’ll be fine. Overall my stay was good, and I truly enjoyed my stay. I’d definitely return for another stay”

“We were in town to visit family and ski @ Black Mountain (which is well worth the price of lift ticket). The house was comfortable and clean and the host was very responsive. The location was great for us - close to family and the mountain.”

“Wished we asked more questions before booking. With 6 people, we only had one decent kayak to use. We were hoping to have a kayak ride as a group and that wasn't possible. 2 of the canoes were in excellent condition. The wooden steps at the bottom of the hill leading to the dock/water were very dangerous for 4 of us who were 60+ years old. It would be nice to have a flat place to sit with our chairs at the water, but realize that may not be possible on that property. The deck was great to have……
