“Our family of 8, including 4 kids and 2 grandparents, enjoyed this property! It's a bit off the beaten path (which is what we were looking for) - we all enjoyed the canoes/kayak, my boys brought their fishing stuff, and we all loved the porch and firepit. The house was very well stocked, making it easy to prepare a few meals in the kitchen/on the grill! I loved that there was a washer/dryer and all the details were thought of... from bathroom supplies, to games/books, and everything we needed to……

“A train came past the house at 7am in the morning. There is no mention of early morning train activity in the description. The mattresses were extremely soft and the blankets were very thin…so we were chilly. The house is beautiful…just these details are something to consider.”

“Don's home is spacious, clean, comfortable, well stocked, organized, and peaceful. The porch boasts a beautiful view of the Shenandoah mountains. We stayed with 8 adults for a retreat and had a beautiful time. Despite the horrible July heat, we felt cool enough inside the home and even on the screened in porches (they had fans!). There were two great living rooms for conversations and connection. The kitchens were big enough to cook all of our meals. The beds were so comfortable and 3 bathrooms……

“Amazing views! Peaceful and restful. Loved the rocking chairs and ceiling fans on the porch for soaking in the scenery. Extremely clean and comfortable. We cooked meals and used the available washer and dryer. Host is easy to communicate with. Hot tub is fantastic. We grilled and ate on the porch while enjoying the sunset. Internet is fast and dependable. AC is nice and cold. A wood stove is available in the living room. Recommend a vehicle with AWD and a fairly decent clearance for the road……

“So much of this trip was ideal. From attentive communication to easy check-in to a gorgeous setting, we appreciated it all. Take care with the driveway as rain has washed some small places away. Slow and steady. Location is ideal for a quick trip to Charlottesville or Shenendoah National Park. The restaurant on nearby Lydia mountain has solid offerings and rockstar patio views. Or go nowhere and settle in. The creek on site offers its own delights. We spotted a blue heron and a ground hog. The……

“Check-in was easy, kitchen was well-stocked, WiFi was great. Bedrooms were really nice and the Master Bedroom mattress was perfect. We had a great stay and enjoyed having our two dogs with us. ”
