“Lovely hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The spa was heaven as the indoor pool, hot tub and Turkish bath were included. I didn't see the sense in having to buy the shower cap/swimming cap as it wasn't waterproof ”

“Nice hotel with room facing river. Parking is a challenge at peak times since at marina and narrow driveway; however, ended up with street parking both nights. Restaurant requires reservation. Area to reach hotel is beautiful but be aware rural narrow roads. Overall, nice quiet stay outside city.”

“Beautiful property and amazing staff. The weather was a bit rainy but it was still very beautiful and the indoor pool was amazing. You do need to wear a swim cap for the indoor pool though. Good breakfast as well”

“Great place to stay! Starting from the staff that were really nice and welcoming. Perfect size room with small kitchen, and balcony to enjoy the beautiful view of Douro River. Breakfast is delicious and served in your room. I highly recommend to stay at Portovella Lodges and Bungalows when visiting this part of Douro Valley!”

“Unbelievable!! Honestly one of my favorite experiences not just on this trip but ever. We had a beautiful view from our room and a private deck which was nice but all the shared areas were equally beautiful with stunning views. The team was AMAZING, everyone was so lovely and the food was delicious! We enjoyed every meal there bc the farm to table concept meant Fresh and delicious. Highly recommend. Please use google maps and not just your iPhone maps though if your are driving. there is……
