“We came down to Virginia to visit family in Floyd and this cabin was less than a half an hour away. The place was beautiful, very clean and comfortable. We had our morning coffee out on the deck taking in the view. I brought my telescope to take advantage of the clear nights and dark skies, it did not disappoint.Great place.”

“Plenty of room for our family group in town for a reunion, plus room for visitors one afternoon. House could use a little TLC in a few spots (loose shower faucet, peeling paint) but it was clean and well furnished. Some sort of window coverings in the master bath would be nice so you're not on display in the evening (no one looking right in, but you can see lights through the trees, at least when there are no leaves on them)”

“We love this house! This is our 4th year renting it. We look forward to it all year. You can tell the owners take pride in it. This year there was some new landscaping. we find everything we need in the kitchen. The weather was perfect with rain only the last evening. We brought 2 paddleboards again this year and rented a pontoon boat for the week.”

“Rented Blackwater for my 40th birthday celebration. I couldn't imagine a better place if I tried. The home is beautiful, comfortable, and well-appointed. The arcade was beyond my dreams! The decorations for Halloween made it even better. We're already planning a return in the summer. Communication with the host was fast and reliable, and they added some personal touches for my birthday that were very sweet and definitely appreciated. The kitchen also had everything we needed! I'm in love.”

“The exterior access is not senior friendly. It is a difficult trek from the drive to the front door on unstable pavers. The rear entrance, where you find the grill, is downright dangerous with steep steps and a heck of a drop off at the drive. However, once inside, the place was as advertised. The rooms were all well appointed with the visitors' comfort in mind. ”

“The home was as described and communication from the host was clear and extensive. The home was welcoming with a lot of unexpected amenities. My husband had a long bike ride on Saturday and it was exciting to see the grill so we could have steak, potatoes and broccoli. When I started cooking I discovered I forgot salt. My husband quickly pointed out the salt, pepper and other spices he had found. It was the most delicious dinner. Unfortunately we had to leave out very early on the last day of……
