“We had a wonderful stay at this house! From the moment we arrived, we loved the peaceful setting, beautiful views, and thoughtful touches throughout the property. Tom, the owner, lives next door and warmly welcomed us and we met his dog Finnegan. He gave us a quick tour of the house.Inside and out, everything was set up with comfort and fun in mind. “I have to say that this site was the most well stocked and developed camp site that we have ever visited. It had everything, and Aaron was a very accommodating host. We could not have asked for more. For everything that the site offered - from hot shower to fully electrically powered lights and refrigerator to the grills, we were in awe. This is definitely a place to stay for multiple nights. If anything, I think the description under-sells what they have to offer. Highly recommended. ”

“Lou-Anne & Rick are very kind, thoughtful and attentive hosts. Dexter’s pond and cabin is very clean, cozy and beautiful, being there gives you a deep sense of tranquility. My husband and I spent our 14 year wedding anniversary here and we just can’t say enough about it! It was a wonderful getaway we will not forget! We will definitely come back! ”

“Everything about this house was perfect. We really enjoyed watching the eagles fly around and the fish jump in the river. My son had a great time fishing off the dock. It was incredibly quiet, but the sites weren’t too far away. We loved that we weren’t battling crowds all week. Most relaxing vacation we’ve had in years!”

“Great location, fantastic lake access. There is potable water through a bubbler, and it turns out there is a filter for the house water which made us feel better. Once we learned that. Beautiful spot, it made me wish I owned a place like that.”

“Please listen closely!! If you pass this place up, I truly feel sorry for you. I am on a first time adventure to Maine from Indiana and this is my FAVORITE place stay of ALL TIME. I wish I had done my homework and planned more time at Desert of Maine. Our cabin was cozy after a nice evening by the fire. Loved the shower!! I will definitely return for a girl's trip with my sisters!! (Cabin 17)”

“Relaxing lakefront living- just get some groceries and you don't need to leave at all! There are outdoor games, a fire pit with free wood stacked nearby, Adirondack chairs, private hot tub, walking areas, frisbee golf, and kayaking. The cabin was super clean and well-equipped. The owners thought of everything. We will be back- our favorite vacation spot so far!”

"The room was clean and tidy, and it was very convenient to go to the university and surrounding shops and restaurants. The only regret was that the room was booked the day before, and the price was doubled compared to booking in advance. It is recommended that you book the room in advance, the price is really different."
