“Overall a good stay at Hockey House, friendly staff, excellent food and a good night's rest. My only concern is that a superior double is nothing more than a standard double just a slightly larger room. No chairs or stool to sit on just a bed, a table with drinks making facilities and a standard bathroom. I would stay again but would ask to see the room first before accepting it as my stay.”

“It used to be the perfect place to stay in the region, but I see it starts to lose its service level. Waiting for osomeone to come to the reception for 20 minutes and it took another 20 mins to check us in...and we are regularly going there for business.”

“Stay was overall good. Once you were there it was fine. Getting the bearings right was an initial challenge. No idea where reception was and the nearest parking to it. It is not what I am used to. Howbeit once you knew where you were all was good.”

“The approach to the hotel is not all that attractive, and without satnav we would probably have driven past. Car parking is OK, facilities are on the whole good, but a bit tired in places. Staff were friendly and helpful, room was large and nicely furnished - if a bit dark, with no main light; but the bathroom area we thought a bit old fashioned, and in need of a makeover. We had planned to take our evening meal in the restaurant, but it was closed because of shortage of staff and the need to……

“Nice stay, house is in beautiful grounds. Only complaint breakfast not good, scrambled eggs were terrible (1) not scrambled egg but some mass prepared egg (2) served cold. Ran out of croissants and meats at the self serve bar.”
