“Overall it is a nice place to stay. It has all the amenities needed. Good size house with a cool beach area. Enough places nearby for meal out and stores to get groceries for food for the house. ”

“Smith Island was on our bucket list of visits, and for spring break we finally went. Castaway Cottage is great!!!! It is the perfect place to stay, and Smith Island is a great way to get away from work and school and the buzz of life on the mainland, which was our whole point of the trip. We totally recommend this house, it is adorable, it has everything you need, and we took our dog and it is SOOOO pet friendly! Oh my gosh, we didn't want to leave! We are absolutely planning a summer trip……

“My sister and our spouses and children got away from DC for a long weekend. This place is a piece of paradise. We had six people in our group which is the right size for this house. We were outside almost the entire time, trying to fish/crab off the dock, sitting at the firepit, or going for a row in the numerous kayaks, canoe or paddle boat. Very peaceful neighborhood and we appreciated being able to bring our dog. Would highly recommended. Did not have any issues with the house and good……

“The host was very accommodating and responsive. The house was above anything you would expect. Beautiful pictures do not do it justice. My family and I had space and didn't feel like we were on top of one another. The beach area was so peaceful and just what the soul needed. Just an amazing place.”

“We had a chance to spend the weekend with our kids (age 18 and 20), and we couldn't have asked for a better location. The view was spectacular and the home was perfect. It was so peaceful and relaxing, yet there was so much to do—fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, ping-pong, darts, board games, the list goes on. Everyone had a fantastic time. The only problem is that were only there for three nights!”

“If you want to relax by the water and getaway from the hustle and bustle, this is the place. The cottage is updated and cozy with amazing views. Just step off the patio onto the sand. Cottage was stocked with essentials and extra goodies to make it feel like home.”

“We had a great 2 night stay this past month. The house was immaculate and well- equipped in all ways- comfortable beds, plenty of nice quality towels, kitchen utensils, pots etc . Our grandkids who visited while we were there lived the air hockey table too! Hosts were super responsive. Quiet, serene location andeasy still to the waterfront ”

“This is a nice little cottage, tucked away from everything right on the river. I was looking for some peace and quiet, and that’s exactly what I got. Even though the weather wasn’t great, the sunroom still let me enjoy the views. ”

“Very interesting home with a lot of family history. Piano. Guitar. Amazing dining room table. Wonderful upstairs suite with other bedrooms two floors away so lots of privacy. Kitchen looked well stocked although we ate all our meals at a relative’s home. I didn’t cook at all. Beach is lovely!”
