“This is a beautiful property with stunning views of Lake Michigan from every room, even the toilet closet! There is a long switchback ramp to get up to the house and 100 stairs down to the beach. Owners provide a motorized cart to assist with getting all your stuff up to the house and there are several landings for resting as you go up the staircase. None of this was a problem for us but I think it could be difficult with little kids or anyone who can’t do stairs or a long ramp. The climb to……

“The Eagles Nest at the Blue Heron Resort on Diamond Lake is not for everyone but we loved it. I say not for everybody in part because you need to take a series of stairs including nearly 30 steps to reach the cabin from the parking space provided. While we (both in our 70's) didn't have a problem, others may well prefer few stairs. The cabin is also not fancy or modern and has a few quirks including a noticeable slant towards the lake. Also the Genevieve Casey Nature Sanctuary is close and offers great hiking with a variety forest types and long difficult trails! This is our 2nd stay at the property and everything was great as it was before. The fall colors were out and it's a beautiful area to take them in.”

The back patio was a nice relaxing place to sit in the mornings and afternoons and the living room provided enough seating for everyone to sit and watch TV when it rained.
