“Much of South Lake Tahoe is noisy and congested. Fireside is located on the edge of the Camp Richardson forested region, perfect hiking distance from Pope Beach. They provide guests with complimentary bikes in the warmer months and snowshoes when the drifts kick in. “We loved our time at this Tahoe City home. The host was super helpful and responsive, and even accommodated early check in/late check out for us. It was just the right amount of space for 2 young families with kids, had an amazing view of the lake and was close to ski mountains. All in all a great stay. My only note for potential renters in the winter is that the driveway is steep and can get icy. Definitely took some management and were glad we had 4WD cars.”

“We took our teens during winter for some fun in the snow. The location is great: close to downtown Truckee and all that Tahoe Donner has to offer. The cabin is cozy and comfortable. Other reviewers have mentioned that it is dated, and some of the fixtures and furnishings may be a bit dated, but everything was operational, comfortable, and this is one of the more affordably priced rentals in the area. The owner is very responsive and super helpful, too. There are lots of games to play,……

“Brought the family, including our dog, for a fun weekend away. Cabin is in an awesome location. I was a little worried about the noise from the road in front, but you can't hear it inside the house. Beautiful views across the lake. Convenient parking just behind the house for 1 car. Pretty clean. Really enjoyed our time.”

“Big house, clean and cozy”

“Overall this place was great. It is truly a cabin in the woods! We saw a bear in the driveway on the first night and still felt very safe. We had a question for the host after we arrived and they were quick to respond. We'll stay again”

“It was the ideal cabin for Lake Tahoe! I would note that this is not in South Lake City, but about 45 minutes north of it so just keep that in mind when booking as there is limited things to do in Tahoe City.”

“We had a great time. Even though it rained every day we still got some snowboarding in...The cabin was amazing the hot tub was great even in the rain fire was warm and cozy ...we would recommend this cabin to anyone.”
