“Stayed for one night and was upgraded from a single to double room, which was appreciated. The room was clean with all the facilities needed. As well as tea/coffee making facilities, bottles of sparking water were also provided. The toilet/shower was a bit small but no real problem. The only minor issue was that the room was quite cold in the evening (it was winter) but the bed was warm and comfortable. Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice. “Decent hotel in good location ”

“Had a lovely 1 night stay at this historic hotel. The interiors are dated but that is part of the charm. The staff were so helpful and friendly, we had an upgrade on our room because hotels.com had overbooked and the staff were very good about it. The room and bed were comfortable, but the kettle was a bit rubbish and not convenient to use (it was connected to the plug which was behind the television) The breakfast was pretty average, not the best but you had enough options. Overall we enjoyed……

“Fantastic food - Try the beef Pho noodle dish, it’s delicious! It was a very clean and comfortable stay with great hosts. Notably the en-suite shower is FANTASTIC! ”

“A lovely friendly hotel. Very well kept. A nicely decorated room with lovely furniture. Great power shower! The only downside for me was the mattress, it just needs replacing. When you don’t sleep well it’s a shame. The breakfast was lovely, there was a large selection to choose from. A lovely stay!”

“Very clean property. Stunning location. Stayed 4 nights. Very impersonal. No communication from owners/operators. No breakfast provided as advertised in Expedia web site. Just orange juice (out of date) and milk in fridge. Had a little difficulty locating property. Rang mobile number in conformation email for assistance but got no reply. Had to locate key in key safe to let myself in. Garden Room very small. Would not stay there again”

“DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE IT IS CLOSED. After a 20 mile day on a walking trip we turned up to find the place closed. On contacting hotels.com they spent 45 minutes trying to find us alternative accomodation and having failed they hung up and never called us back. Left stranded and getting dark we could only find a place 40 miles away available and had to sort transport to and from ourselves which left us £200 out of pocket let alone a massive inconvenience. Hotels.com have still not called us……
