“This cabin is in a great location and the owner had good communication. It is definitely rustic which I knew when booking and have no problem with. Two issues that need to be addressed are that it wasn’t clean. Every room had to be swept when I got there, floor needed moping but no mop. There was old moldy food in the fridge. One of the windows had the single glass pane out of the frame. With the other window having a broken pane. The pane fell out 2 other times during the stay.This is a big……

“This little spot in the woods is such a nice retreat. The lens window at the apex of the Yurt and the stove are more enjoyable than TV and the owls and grouse and nuthatches and chikadees and frogs are the best sounds for relaxing. The red squirrels were the comic relief. This year the nicer weather meant a few more ATVs on the adjacent trail but they stop when it gets dark, mostly, and the fence and tree screen make all but the noise of them easy to ignore.”

“We had the pleasure of staying at The Gem while visiting family in Bovey. It was such a beautiful location (that is saying something considering we are from Alaska) with everything you could need. “Absolutely GREAT! A bit windy but the fish didn't mind! Our cabin was very comfy and supplied with all the necessary utensils, bedding, comforters, nice counch, padded dining chairs, etc, etc. etc. Arlene, our host just let us do our thing. “The house is just off the road but you'd never know it while you are there. This peaceful, cozy home is a perfect place to disconnect. Lots of space to spread out or gather together. Kitchen has plenty of pots/pans and a great stove/oven. Dollar general is a short drive or moderate walk away. I was glad to expierence this home as a cozy winter get away and would definitely pick this place first for summer fun.”

“Our family of 5 (kids 10 months to 10 y.o.) had a great time! Added pontoon for added/improved swimming options and quiet lake tours to end our nights. Used provided fishing gear and the kids caught some nice sunnies, smallmouth and northern! Home was large and inviting. Plenty of space. Kitchen was large and well stocked. Plenty of extras so that I didn’t need to pack my entire kitchen. Lots of outside toys/floaties/bikes/kayak to keep us busy. Had fun on rainy day playing music via Bluetooth……
