“We really enjoyed staying in a real house in a real neighborhood for our trip to Kyoto. There was plenty of room for our small family, and we felt we had a more authentic visit to this beautiful city. A couple things to note for those who read reviews is that the stairs to the bedrooms are very steep and narrow, and I worried for my husband navigating them in the dark at night. The bed in the second bedroom is on the floor, which isn't a bad thing considering this is an authentic experience,……

“The design and deco of the hotel is top notch. Room is nicely decorated and thoughtfully design. The renovation done perfectly to maintain the heritage of the building at the same time creating a comfortable living space with the input of luxurious feeling and technology. However, the staff and service is not up to par with the hardware, especially when you’re not Japanese or caucasian.
