We spent most of our time out exploring, there is so much to do in this area. The hike to the top of the lookout tower was amazing (best to drive up thru Bassets and then towards Packer Lake so that you don't have to drive up the rough unpaved road from Sierra City). We had a great snow day giving us a chance for some excellent snow play in fresh snow next to Jameson Creek. The christmas tree and decorations added an extra touch! We made a lot of fun memories.
