“The lovely view from the lounge/diner makes the property, which was very well equipped and very well located in relation to the village centre and its many restaurants and shops. Our stay was enhanced by some really exceptional weather.”

“We hired the bunkhouse for two nights of birthday celebrations and walking. Great location with stunning walks right outside the door. Wainwright’s Inn is a few steps away, as is the co-op with its little cafe upstairs. I hope to make our stay an annual event. Highly recommended!”

“Fantastic home on the lake with gorgeous grounds and views. Plenty of rooms to spread out and have privacy yet also large family rooms for gathering together for meals and games. Hosts were excellent and very responsive with tips for local restaurants. Overall a magnificent property and we hope to return! ”

“This cottage is lovely and cosy, well appointed. V useful to have a washer/drier. Could have done with a bit more crockery, especially bowls and glasses and the wifi was very intermittent. However, a lovely place and very comfortable. Great location and views.”

“A thoroughly enjoyable holiday. The view from the house was lovely and a very comfortable place to stay. We loved the pool and swam most days.”

“Property- fantastic. Many walks to forests/gardens/fells right from the property- Ferry to towns a 10 min walk. Grounds were charming- the kitchen is incredibly well kitted out for those who like to cook- very comfortable beds and the communication was great with the owners.”

“Extremely handy base for walking in this area and easy access to all the village facilities. One thing I hadn’t thought of was the challenge of a dirty dog and only having a small shower cubicle so one to consider if booking! (We made it work somehow). Only slight down side to the property was the sofa isn’t the comfiest place to sit of an evening, but we fixed that by visiting the pub instead. Overall very good for our needs and an easy experience.”

“We arrived to what initially looked superb.A real wow moment Fresh towels linen etc. large room and plenty of space inside. There were no instructions on how to use the cooler / heating. It was not a bespoke welcome pack. Very very basic pack. We received a bottle of wine in the fridge and two bottles of water. We then noticed an incredible smell of mustiness in all but two bedrooms and black mould in the curtains. The place is up for planning permission application to knock down and build……

“property fine just what we wanted, however perhaps a heads up on things like there was no washing up liquid or dish cloth provided which we thought should have been, also for log burner no fire lighters kindling or a few starter logs . instructions for NEF gob were in font 5 dover couldn’t work out what to do to cook our meal ”
