“We had an excellent stay at the Waiakea Villas. The room was comfortable and the amenities were excellent. Check-in was by lockbox, but it was easy to use. There is a State Park just around the corner which was a nice place to walk in the mornings. The room does not have central A/C (like many places in Hawaii) but it did have a portable unit. We did not find instructions for how to use the portable unit in the room's guest guide, but eventually figured out that there is an outflow pipe for hot……

“Very nice pool and view of the pool from the balcony. Especially enjoyed the hammock.Beds were comfortable. Unit was clean and well appointed, although keeping ice was a bit of a challenge due to the quite small freezer.Had a bit of trouble regulating the shower temp. At times it was only hot hot hot!! Not the best shower head as well, unable to adjust.Beach towels were not provided, something we have not experienced at other locations.Hosts were readily available to answer questions and……

“I was in Hilo for a month for work and stayed at Maggie's place. It was perfect for me in all ways - fantastic location, nice complex, very clean, lovely lanai, close to a beautiful park for walks/jogs. Various places to eat or get groceries that are within a 10 min walk or a couple of mins drive. Maggie was an exceptional host, very quick to respond and very kind to me on my arrival after a 25h trip. I absolutely loved my stay and if I am lucky enough to return to Hilo for work then I would……

“The house was very nice and clean, and it had good wifi. It was right by everything. 8-10 minute drive from most things. You could walk to the gas station if you needed a quick snack. ”

“We visited Hawaii for the first time this summer for my parent's 60th Anniversary. There were 11 of us in total at the house and we could not have made a better choice. There was plenty of space for everyone ( ok sometimes the teenage girls spent too much time in the bathrooms) and the surroundings were perfect. We loved meals on the balcony overlooking the ocean. Air hockey was fun to play. The amazing soothing sounds of the coqui frogs at night led to peaceful sleep,(earplugs were available if……

“We appreciated that the property allowed our cats to stay with us. The house is quite stunning as well as the property and the view of the ocean. The description of rental could have been better. We did not realize the house was separated into separate units and that our was on the lower level. We would hear the upstairs neighbors walking around and talking. ”
