“The Quiet Single Family House was the perfect place to stay for our group of a mom and 3 college-aged girls. We had plenty of space, the home was very clean and comfortable, and we were central to everything we wanted to do in the area. The neighborhood was peaceful and it wasn’t far to restaurants and grocery stores. “Our stay was nice. The location was great for our needs. The place was a great size and a well stocked kitchen. We were disappointed with the quality of certain things such as one of the beds which slanted to the middle so we found ourselves rolling into each other during the night and incredibly thin pillows. All in all it was a good stay.”

“Great location, very clean, can bike to the beaches, and there are at least two beach restaurants at the end of the street. Close to Newburyport as well. Hope they get those curtains in on the second floor fixed and there is a vent outside the upstairs bathroom (outside) that needs a hood replaced or it makes noise on a windy night. Such small things true my, and it wouldn’t stop me from staying there again!!!”

“This was a lovely property with all of the expected amenities and then some. The Burrow bed kits for the couches and extra pillows, blankets, and towels made it easy to accommodate 8 adults. The hosts were easy to reach when needed and helpful throughout the stay. We had no isseues and they checked in regularly to identify potential needs. The entire house is clearly labeled to easily locate the items needed throughout the stay. We will choose Rose Cottage again if we are traveling to Boston……

“The house is very well equipped and comfortable. There is no living room, so if you are wanting to watch a family movie or play video games or something--- not a great house for that. If you want a comfortable home that is in a great location at an affordable rate, this is the house for you. There are nice tvs in the living room and kitchen. ”

“The photos don’t do this place justice. It’s so incredibly charming. It’s a great location for exploring Salem, but hanging around the house is also very enjoyable. Every night we settled in for family movie night on the couch. The hosts were responsive and accommodating. Whole place was clean and delightful. Highly recommend!!”

“The home is in a nice and safe location. Lovely exterior and interior. Nicely updated kitchen and bathrooms. Comfortable beds, good quality bed linens and plenty of absorbent towels. Very clean.Hot water is slow to heat up in sinks, showers and bathtub. House needs to add more kitchen flatware - there were only 5 teaspoons, 1 tablespoon, but sufficient forks and knives. Also would be nice to have a non-plastic tea kettle.Please add indoor mat at back door to wipe shoes and avoid puddles and dirt……

“Nice neighborhood. Placed clean and cozy. Big kitchen area for hanging out. ”

“Overall dissatisfied:-manager never returned 4 emails requesting internet access and password. Called listed number and got out of service message NO INTERNET/WIFI entire time on premises-roach in kitchen on stove-sleeps 5 gave us 3 hangers-not enough flatware for 5 people to eat-hair in walk-in shower-could use tissues. Toilet paper hurts my nose-could use napkins-tv in primary bedroom didn’t work-fan and a/c in second bedroom didn’t work-on personal note, guests found beds uncomfortable, walk……

“Neighborhood felt safe and off street parking for two cars was great! Not enough towels in bathrooms or kitchen and oven took an eternity to preheat. Sofa bed in basement does not fold down, so only able to sleep one person. Location is just short of two miles from MBTA stop, so you'll want to plan accordingly. We didn't spend a ton of time at the house, but it served its purpose as a place to sleep when spending time in Boston over a long weekend!”

“Had a weekend getaway with my mom and sister for Mothers Day and this was the perfect spot to stay! It was a quick walk across the bridge to get to downtown Salem and all of the shops and museums. Owners were super helpful and responsive, and the house was clean and beautiful. It was nice and quiet and we felt so safe the whole time. Would definitely rebook if we return to the area!! ”
