“We recently stayed 2 nights at this wonderful place. It is a unique, relaxing, and beautiful environment. It is also located close to many activities available in the area. We loved spending time in Jonesborough and riding bikes on the Tweetsie Rails to Trails between Johnson City and Elizabethon. It was just the right retreat for us to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. ”

“This place is well situated and has a nice side yard and porch. Close to a river, we went down about 10 min just pulled off the road and the kids played there for a few hours. The house is nice and has plenty of things for cooking. Overall it was great! There were 24 of us.We did have some issues. The place looked like it wasn't tended too often. It was well cleaned!, but maintenance wasn't the best. The washer didn't work, but I'm sure it will be fixed soon. The downstairs tub/shower couldn't……

“This home was the absolute perfect spot for our family of 4 to meet up with our best friends (also a family of 4). There is plenty of room, the dining table accommodates big group meals, and the view was just incredible. We enjoyed hiking in the area and would love to come back! Wonderfully responsive host and the bed was so comfortable. ”

“We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, the spacious kitchen area for having breakfast before heading out for the day and cooking meals and after dinner the family time around the campfire in the evening, During the day we visited the surrounding areas for shopping, scenic views snd festivities close by! We all had an amazing time at the cabin with the bonus of listening to the the waterfalls! Loved our stay!!!”

“My family and I stayed at this beautiful mountain home over the Memorial Day weekend. This location is truly magical. A hidden gem. Far enough away that you get to get away from it all and dive into nature, but close enough to be able to seek out the culture of Asheville and surrounding areas. The communication from the owners was great and informative and the house was comfy and well-appointed. We wanted to stay longer.”

“We needed somewhere to unwind that we could also take our three fur babies. Couldn't have asked for a better escape! The sunrises, the sunsets, The horses right out the window. Just enough modern convenience blended in to an 1880's escape. Our fur babies loved the walks of the gravel driveway every morning and night. The horses would come over to greet us. Cuddling up to a warm fire was just the perfect touch to end each day. We plan to come back!”

“Spacious, clean home nestled in a serene river valley at the base of the highest mountain east of the Mississippi. The house is comfortable enough to never want to leave, but convenient enough to so many fun things to do, you have to venture out. Ramble down the hill to kayak, fish or swim. A quick 20 minute deive to an easy hike in to a waterfall (roaring fork) with the kids. Both Biltmore and Grandfather are within an hour making for easy day trip outings.And Emerald”

“Truly enjoyed the views and remoteness of this home. Bedrooms had great comfortable beds. The kitchen was well stocked and felt like bone away from home. The only recommendation we would make is to have better more comfortable seating with better cushions for the indoor and outdoor furniture. We would absolutely consider coming back if the seating was more comfy.”

“We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cabin! We booked it as a last-minute option when other accommodations fell through and were so very glad we did! We spent slow mornings on the porch listening to the sounds of nature and spent evenings playing games and watching movies as a family followed by s’mores! The cabin has everything you could want including a fabulous full kitchen, very comfortable beds, and gorgeous decor. Host was very responsive and a joy to chat with. We will……

“Cabin was clean, well stocked with what we needed for a 5 day stay and views of the mountains were perfect. The first time we drove up the driveway was a bit scary as some areas had washout on the sides but we got used to navigating past these areas. ”

“Communication with the host was amazing. Jake’s Cabin is the perfect getaway spot to relax and enjoy nature. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch every morning drinking our coffee and listening to the peaceful sound of the small creek on property. We explored the nearby towns and highly recommend future visitors explore Elizabethton. We also enjoyed the fireplace one evening as it was a bit chilly out in the evenings. Would stay here again without hesitation. ”

“We absolutely loved our stay! Clean, well stocked, and so much room for everyone to spread out. The kids loved having a level to themselves! We will definitely be back.”

“It was super beautiful and peaceful there! We enjoyed hiking in Carver’s Gap and Roan Mountain with our 3 pups. Plus fishing in the river. We very much enjoyed the cabin. I will say if you are a cast iron person like myself to cook, bring your own. But decent dish-ware and enough to make meals. My only complaint is the drip pans need to be changed on the stove because they are black almost. Otherwise no complaints and perfect place to get away. We plan to possibly make this an annual trip. ”
