“Our family of 3 generations (4 one night) had an absolutely fantastic time in this beautiful, newly constructed home! The open floor plan was great for traffic flow at mealtimes and when we were all together. The additional gathering areas on the deck, basement, firepit, and dock were wonderful for smaller gatherings. We really enjoyed using the big kitchen to prepare meals for our large group. We have been coming to SML since 2008, and rent a different house each year, but we heard multiple……

“As promised, a real sanctuary. A small and hidden gem attached to a farmhouse, everything was spotless and clean like home. The farm grounds are beautiful, with a lovely view of the Peaks of Otter. This place is great for a couple or a solo traveller, a spot to unwind and unplug. It forced a change of pace and filled the day with activity — we went on three hikes including the challenging Sharp Top mountain, visited an apple orchard (and bought a peach sapling) and had excellent Thai and Indian……

“Nat was one of the most helpful hosts I’ve ever interacted with. He gave us so many recommendations on things to do, where to eat as well as details about the house and area, which made planning for the trip that much easier. House is located right off the blue ridge parkway for easy access to hikes and right down the street from twin river outfitters. Great stay!”

“We really appreciated all the home provided for us while away from our own home. We were able to cook meals and feel at home. I loved having the full sized washer and dryer, full kitchen, cozy living room and scenic porch! The owners were kind and friendly!”

“We had a wonderful weekend visiting our son for his birthday. The home is absolutely beautiful! Loved all the original wood floors and the quaint front porch. Although we didn’t use them, the kitchen was well stocked with cookware. I especially appreciated that an appropriate amount of towels and washcloths were provided. So many other places we have stayed have literally provided one washcloth and towel for a stay of several nights. Very grateful that you all provided for our needs! Will……

“Very nice loft with many thoughtful amenities! The bed was very comfortable and the balcony was perfect both at night and for coffee in the morning! There were many choices for dinner and we walked to one of the restaurants recommended by the hosts. In the morning we went to several of the shops. This location was a perfect place to explore this riverfront area! ”

“This place has potential, but there are several things that need to be done for the property to bring it up to the standard of a vacation rental. First and foremost, it needs a deep cleaning. We spent our first full day of vacation cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms. The beds are awful. Awful. The appliances are in need of replacement. The entire home needs somebody with resources to invest some cash and bring it to a standard worthy of charging people to stay. Some other things of note,……
