“It was chilly and snowy but the views from the deck and from inside the big picture windows were absolutely stunning, and we made use of both the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit to stay nice and cozy. The only minor downside to this hidden gem of a property is that it has pretty low water pressure - it made washing dishes a bit more difficult and made me not want to even attempt washing my shoulder length hair. But outside of that (again, very minor) this place was truly a little slice of……

“Decorating touches, velvet curtains and every thoughtful amenity. Comfy bed and bedding, even an “upscale” outhouse w art on wall. Next best thing to tent camping which I can no longer do. I will be back. Great getaway.”

“Thank you for another lovely visit! We enjoyed daily hikes up and down the coast, investigating a few new spots to change things up. The weather was perfectly mixed, and topping off a chilly morning walk or a toasty afternoon climb with a sauna and then a beer on the deck was amazing!! “We loved our stay on the river! The cabin was even more beautiful than we had hoped. So clean and spacious too! They had everything we needed to be able to relax and just enjoy our week. Our kids range from 10-16 and loved having the river and pond to paddle around in. Even in early June the water was warm enough for them get in. Only a few minutes out of town and perfectly located to be able to enjoy both Grand Marais and the Gunflint Trail. We hope to come back soon! ”

“We stayed at Alex & Kate's A-Frame in Tofte while competing at spring races at Lutsen. They were incredibly responsive and accommodating with our needs, and the house is fantastic. Easily fit the 7 of us, with a great space for hanging out after the day of skiing. And the Sauna was incredible! Easy to use, and really made for a great way to end the day. Well appointed kitchen, amazing deck with views of Lake Superior, quiet setting - just perfect. Will keep this place on our go-to when back……
