“Just brilliant. Le Grand Monarque was recommended by a friend in the UK who stays there regularly. He really did us a favour as it is a fabulous and very interesting hotel with exceptional staff (especially Natalie on Reception). The parking is great value at €7 per night and the breakfast was delicious and nicely varied. Located in the centre of the small town of Azay-le-Rideu this hotel is an absolute gem. ”

“Although the hotel locates at the other side of the river (city centre), it only took 15 mins walk through the bridges to the city centre. It is still very convenient and I can enjoy a quiet stay. Staff are helpful, nice and friendly, and speaks very good English and I found no difficult to communicate with them and got all the information I needed. The room is just ok large enough for me to open my two very large luggage, but still clean and comfort. Overall it is good value for money. I……

“Both service and food are so good. Location and traffic is also so visitor-friendly. The gentleman at reception can even speak some mandarin. It really makes me feel warm. Wish to visit again. ”

“Very nice new facility and comes with a well supplied optional breakfast. The only downside is the location. It is quite a walk across the bridge to the main part of the village. We therefore ended up driving over and and parking in the free parking area to go out to dinner each night.”
