“Wer die Ruhe sucht, ist hier richtig. Absolut entspannen kann man mit Blick aufs Meer. Natürlich braucht man hier ein Mietauto. In der Unterkunft ist alles vorhanden, es gibt sogar eine Geschirrspülmaschine. Auch ein Kamin ist da. Wir haben den Aufenthalt hier sehr genossen.”

“Mein Aufenthalt war sehr schön. Haus in ruhiger Hanglage auf einem Bergkamm. Die Straße,Sackgasse, ist ca. 80m entfernt. Anfahrt: Über Porto da Cruz auf ER108 Richtung Portela. Nach ca. 5km links auf Caminho do Gaba, gleich wieder rechts,dann die Parkterrasse links mitTor,Fernbedienung. Weg mit Treppen zum Haus runter (50m) Nicht für Rolator oder Rollstuhl.Tip: Google Maps Wohnen auf zwei Etagen. EG: KücheWohnen WCOG: Schlafen(2) Bad/WC. “Sehr geräumig an einer sehr steilen Straße. Fußläufig ist Funchal erreichbar aber durch die hohe Lage anstrengend. Bäcker und kleiner Supermarkt ca. 800 m entfernt. Parken an der Straße schwierig, aber möglich. Haus liegt an einer engen, steilen Straße mit regem Verkehr incl. Linienbus. Die Terrasse war, schon längere Zeit nicht mehr gereinigt worden. Zwei Liegestühle, davon einer defekt. Unbequeme Esstischstühle. TV nur pay TV und alles für britische Gäste. Besen und Kehrblech wäre schön. ”

Arco da Calheta is a perfect, central yet quiet holiday base to explore Madeira. The ocean view is just breathtaking!Great contact with the owners before travel. “We had a great stay at Blue Sea Cottage. The location with views to the ocean are outstanding. The place - garden and house - in a "Portuguese Style" is very pittoresque. The rooms on two floors offer enough space for 4 adults. The interior design is tasteful and functional. Everything you need for your vacation is there. It should be noted that January is a time of high humidity. It was difficult to dry the rooms sufficiently, especially after showering. Bill was able to help us quickly via the……

“Ein sehr schönes Haus, sauber und gepflegt. Alles da was man braucht, Grill, gute Küchenausstattung, großer Kühlschrank. Wer sich selbst bekochen will, muss allerdings alles, auch Salz und Pfeffer, vor Ort besorgen. Von allen Zimmern, Küche und Wohnbereich ein toller Blick auf das Meer. Die Autobahn ist zwar in Sichtweite, stört aber nicht wirklich. Die Lage ist zentral, 10 min bis zum Supermarkt und 20 min. bis in die Innenstadt von Funchal. Das Haus hat eine große Garage mit direktem Zugang……

“A very large beautiful home. Disappointed that there was no welcome pack on arrival (milk, eggs, etc). Very limited glassware - only one beer glass! Cupboards were very bare of any basics other than S&P etc. the coffee machine provided wa for pods - none supplied - so hard to source - could have been a simple French press/caffitiere/plunger - but none found. We did have a fantastic stay though ”
