“This was the perfect cozy cabin for our winter vacation. It is perfect if you love a private peaceful scene in the woods. About 30 minutes from towns. Very comfortable, and the Mary is incredibly responsive and helpful. We went to towns, ice fishing on the private lake, had ourselves a day catching so many perch, and relaxed by the fire inside. Highly recommend if you like the quietness of the woods and being outdoors as lots of trails and hikes to do as well!”

“So beautiful! When we were not fishing we relaxed on the porch watching the water with our cups of coffee. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Modern comforts in the peace of nature, could not ask for more! ”

“Perfect spot to enjoy the Adirondacks. Close to Lake Placid but not right there so no crazy traffic. Love the access to the lake to relax with some coffee ”

“Very cozy cabin. Bathroom perhaps a bit TOO cozy. Which means it was lovely, but very small. Many stubbed toes on the shower lip, but I concede that not much could be done about that. There were a few cobwebs in the rafters, some sawdust on the top of the bathroom mirror, but overall lovely. ”

“We came to Saranac Lake to check out the Adirondacks. It is a beautiful area. The Cabin is great for kicking back and soaking in the surroundings. We brought a boat with fishing in mind. Not such a good idea. Oh! the cabin advertisement indicated that it was "Blue" . Well, that's only half true. Like I said, we brought a boat so we could leave from the Cabin and fish. But, if one arrives at the cabin by water, it is brown, not blue. It rains on us for 3 days, but we still hadfun.”

“Liked the location, close to Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. Cabin was cozy and warm with snow shoeing trails nearby. Hosts were responsive and friendly. Didn’t like the bathroom faucet, had to hold handle in order to get water, needs updating. Felt kitchen was lacking a few amenities that all other places have provided (toaster, salt and pepper). ”

“Follow a gps and it will take you right to the Cabin on the River. The hundreds of geese flying into the river was a real treat. Just beautiful to see. We brought my 91 year old Mother who enjoyed this cozy spot. We would love to come back again and bring our teenage grandkids for fly fishing. ”

“The accommodations and amenities were as described. The cabin was clean, organized and beautifully themed. The parking was appropriate, plowed and the salt and shovel was helpful that was left. Enjoyed the privacy. We felt like we were in a beautiful snow globe. ”

“I stayed here for a month and it was the right balance of peaceful and convenient. I am hoping to stay here again on my next trip.”

“Critter Cabin is everything we want in a vacation cabin. This cabin is authentic with every thing we need. Very cozy, clean, quiet. Wonderful views of Mt. View Lake. All the needed amenities for outdoor activities plus great wi-fi. Such peace and quiet. A perfect place for us and our two dogs. Thank you so much Doug for letting us stay here all these years. ”

“The house was just the right size for our family - 6 adults and 1 child (aged 8). The property is very remote but if you plan your meals well, it works out just fine. Most of our time was spent on the upper deck lounging, in the water, or relaxing in the living /dining area with dinner in the garden. The hosts were very responsive and generous with answers to questions. A perfect week-long getaway. If there is any complaint it is that the mattresses in the upstairs bedrooms were too soft.”
