“Spent four days in Minocqua at the Knotty Barrel Lodge. I have been spending summers in Minocqua for 30 years, there is nothing like this place. Perfect location, walking distance to town, easy for boat rental. There is a great supper club downstairs with a friendly staff (btw: noise from the restaurant is not an issue at all)The property is clean and so unique. The beds are crazy comfortable, bunk room in great condition with lockers and vanity mirrors, showers and bathrooms in perfect……

“From the outside we were a little skeptical (old fashion motif). One step in the door and it felt like home. Warn, clean, and the lounge was PERFECT. We played cribbage and met some new friends. We will definitely be back! What a great little place!”

“The listing lacked a lot of vital details.1) the rooms are underneath a very busy commercial space. We were directly underneath a bar room and the sliding of chairs, talking and music carried on into the night. The music not only came through the ceiling above us, but was piped out into the backyard for bar patrons who went outside to smoke to listen to it.2) the location is quite remote. Some cars might not be able to get down the potholed gravel roads, depending on which route you use to get……
