“it is in the old town center and just next to the main attractive points like cathedral. as it is a building over 500 years old, so no lift but wooden stairs only (but this is the reason i stay here). Shared toilet and bathroom is good (and you can enjoy the cathedral view when you are "relaxing"). ”

“Beautiful old building but run down. Cold water not connected to shower and hot water not connected to sink. Needs a thorough cleaning. Carpet needs replacing. No one on duty at front desk. Manager is doing the best he can, very polite and kind. ”

“Room was of good size and comfortable. Would be helpful to have had emergency point of contact & Wifi details in the room. Overall an enjoyable stay & would definately book again. ”

“We were pleasantly greeted and explained where everything was there was a booklet in our room with any additional information we may need the room was immaculate it was so much cheaper so than a local hotel and apart from the the room being slightly smaller everything else was much nicer than a general hotel, I would highly recommend a visit.”

“Clean, comfortable, well maintained property. The host and staff were responsive and friendly. The kitchen is well equipped if you want to dine in. Located in safe, residential area. About a 10 minute walk to the Canterbury Cathedral. There is a Tessco Express and pub near by. Highly recommended. ”

“A bright, clean and contemporarily furnished space with everything we needed. There were just a couple of (minor) niggles such as the fact that there's very little space to get around the bottom of the bed if you need the bathroom in the night and the bathroom cabinet could be moved higher up the wall; its current position inhibits access to the sink.But otherwise we had no complaints and we enjoyed our stay.”

“Had an excellent stay at the Old Town House. The location is perfect for anyone visiting Margate as you are a short 15min walk away from the train station and right in the old town centre next to great coffee shops, restaurants and more. The room was beautiful and clean, bed super comfortable and overall a lovely stay for the price. Really easy check in system too with keyless access. Thank you Anne & Mark”

“This house was really stunning - so different from the usual holiday houses which can be quite bland. Beautifully furnished and decorated, in a lovely quiet neighbourhood with a beautiful view of the sea. The pool and sauna are a real treat and as we were lucky with the weather, we were able to truly make the most of the pool! The house was spotless and provided all the simple basics - washing up liquid, tea, coffee, sugar, foil etc. The owners were prompt to answer my messages both before and……

Lovely, Clean, New Hotel with a rich history

"The hotel has recently been refurbished but still has the ‘old’ side which you can select the room for stay if you are interested in this historic experience. Those rooms will be available for cheaper prices as well. I chose to stay at the ‘newer’ side for my accommodation this time as they are usually more comfortable for a good night sleep. I was correct and the room looks amazing and spacious too! What a wonderful refurbishment with great designs. Staff were also very helpful and friendly with the hospitality service. Their breakfast or dining area seems lovely although I took it outside instead as there’s so much to do and eat outside the hotel as well. I would loved to stay here once again if I come round for a visit once again. "
