“We had an amazing 1 night stay. We had parked up the road just off high street (24 hour car park) as parking limited (permit only outside) at the pub but was easy to find car park and walk down to the pub was a couple of minutes. When we arrived in the pub we were welcomed by Babs and Summer. Summer showed us to our room, you have to go through a staff only area and as it is a pub the ceilings were low but we liked that as it makes the stay different. “We booked a Double Ensuite Room. On arrival our room was the family room. Wow what a massive room. It had 3 beds. Lovely fresh looking room, so clean. Beds were comfortable. Shower had great pressure and water was hot. We also booked a twin room. This too was lovely and clean. Had a kettle, teas and coffees for use, as did the Double Room. Pauline & Dave were brilliant hosts. Nothing was too much if you requested anything. You could tell that they had been hosts for a long time. Breakfast was……

“Very friendly staff, clean and tidy room, walking distance to sea front one way and main town the other - about 5 minutes. Breakfast amazing, even M&S zero fat Greek Yoghurt selection and perfect Avocado with lightly poached egg! Full English cooked fresh and looked very appetising. Will definitely return!”

“A beautiful place to stay. Our room was so clean and bright with wonderful facilities. A nice quiet location but near enough to the town. Our hosts were great and the breakfast was superb. I can't wait to visit again.”

“We had a great time at Rectory Manor, a lovely old georgian country house set in mature garden of trees and lawn with a swimming pool and tennis court if you want some exercise. Our room (the Hudson) was furnished in the country house style and was supremely comfortable. The only downside was the bathroom was a bit small and slightly dated. The bath was too small to properly soak. On the plus side we had an unexpected balcony that caught the morning sun whilst giving beautiful country views……

“The hotel was clean , the staff very polite and helpful. Could do with small fridge in room , breakfasts were excellent we will stay again if we visit Clacton-on-Sea Overall we were treated very very well.”
