You can hike to the state park from the cabin (3.5 miles to point no point) We Kayaked, Hiked and even did a winery tour at Villa Bellezza in Pepin. Our Host was conscientious and helpful. On our first night we blew a fuse and the refrigerator was out, Randy came over at 7:30 the next morning with a bag of ice (in case he couldn't mend the fridge) and even some of his homemade maple syrup. “The cabin has everything we needed, good WiFi and comfortable furniture and beds, and a good shower. The fish were biting like crazy off the dock. We caught well over 100 during our stay — nice crappies, largemouth bass and rock bass. Great bar/restaurants nearby, including the Long Bridge and Bleacher’s. Both had live music! We would definitely stay here again.”

“We were attending a family wedding in Scandia, but also visiting with relatives in the Twin Cities. This charming Forest Lake cottage was the perfect escape from all of the activity. It had everything we needed for our stay. Its location near the lake was ideal for relaxing walks and exploring the local area. The cottage itself was clean, comfortable and truly enjoyable. “We really enjoyed our stay for St Olaf Graduation for immediate and extended family. The house was well stocked and allowed for family dinners and cake and champagne after commencement. It worked out so well for our family and graduate’s friends to stop by. ”

“The location was excellent. The only slightly negative things were the lack of any storage drawers for clothes, uncomfortable bed pillows, and the steep stairs to the basement where the washer/dryer is located. All are typical in this area. On the positive side, there is a great heating/cooling system and new windows. The mattresses were very comfortable. The owner responded quickly to any issues. Our son and his wife came to visit and loved the unit and the neighborhood. ”

“Perfect walkable location to canal and lakefront as well as beach access right across the road. Right next to Coast Guard station. A bit challenging finding the house on arrival after dark but everything worked out. Adjacent multi room Heirloom property is on main road but parking is shared; assigned spots may be taken by other house but again, we figured something out. Loved the house; customer service was excellent! Highly recommend!”

“We had some family things in Brainerd and I wanted a quiet place to unwind at night. Ben’s place near Long Lake was just the spot! I’ve stayed at a lot of vacation homes, the bed was honestly the 2nd best of all time! The cabin has all the amenities and more you could want to use for a week away. The in-floor heat is especially nice for an early morning coffee. Ben was Very Responsive and quick to anything that came up, including notification to me that the internet was down and he had someone……
