“Overall, the room is warm and comfortable although it is relatively small, sufficient for move of one person. The bathroom is large and warm. One drawback is the location is not near to Durham town Center (35 -40 minutes walking distance) and go some slopes before reach the hotel. ”

“Everything was amazing apart from the tv didn’t work at all, it wouldn’t have mattered so much but given the location, once the bar closed there was nothing to do. Staff tried to get it to work but couldn’t. Would still go back though as everything else was lovely”

“Great staff and great food & drinks at the pub. Easy parking and we were welcomed the moment we opened the door. Room was comfortable and it's very easy to get to the Holy Island from here. I would definitely recommend staying here, as I know we would again. ”

“Great stay. Everyone very friendly. Room comfortable and clean but shower was very weak.”

“Location is amazing with the AD 122 bus stopping here or around the corner, depending on direction. Also around the corner is The Sill, with a Northumberland Park team of advisors who are excellent and can guide you in seeing Hadrian’s wall. The room was fine, though there is no rubber mat on their slippery shower floor. Having a brewery and pub right there is great and it’s a nice fun place. “If you are looking for 4 or 5* ratings then the Waterford Arms isn't for you. If you want honest, no frills accommodation with wonderful staff and great food then you're onto a winner. We had a great stay and when the area had a power cut on a fully booked restaurant on Saturday night the staff were amazing. “Greeted with a warm and kind welcome. Very easy to find and plenty of parking on site. It was a perfect choice for the 1 night stay we had in breaking a long drive from the north of Scotland to south yorkshire. Food and drink in the inn was very nice and the service by the staff likewise. Breakfast was included in the cost of the stay and we knew it was going to be as good as its past reviews. The worst hotel stay in the entire trip

"Extremely poor service and stay. We were given a smaller room than we had asked for (images do not match the actual state of the room), and the air conditioner is broken; we were provided with fans but we do not have proper ventilation in our room, causing the room to be very hot and stuffy, and after taking a shower the room becomes very damp. Television does not work, and the fans aren't very good. There are also insect stains on the bedding. Service is misleading, we were told that our check out was at noon however we were urged to leave as soon as 11am came by, asking to charge us for overstaying in the hotel. Our belongings were held at the lobby as well because of this, and the staff were reluctant to return our belongings. Extremely disappointed at the service and conditions of the hotel, will not recommend it to anyone."
