“The place is run by enthusiasts, motivated by the architectural significance of the 60s hydro-electric project. If that rings your bell, go for it. If not, think twice. The food is good and honest, I enjoyed the local trout for dinner and hand smoked salmon for breakfast (you can tell it's the real deal because there's the odd bone in, a machine wouldn't miss that). Apart from the food, view, nature, history, architecture and some pool access I didn't use, there isn't much else. No disco, no 24……

“Das Zimmer war groß, sauber und gut eingerichtet. Das Frühstück war super. Der Checkin war durch das Personal sehr einfach und jede Frage wird beantwortet. Parkmöglichkeiten direkt vor dem Zimmerfenster. Tipp: Wem eine Hauptstraße unangenehm ist, bittet um ein Zimmer nach hinten raus. Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen und wir kommen gerne wieder.”

“We enjoyed our one night stay at Scandic Hotel in Haugesund. Staff was very friendly and helpful! The room was as expected and bed comfortable. Room was quiet. Breakfast was excellent! Such a variety and many fresh options! The area of town was plain, and for some reason there are multiple Thai massage businesses nearby, but easy to walk to the waterside and main shopping street. Overall, would recommend for an economical and pleasant stay.”

“Vi rotet litt selv, sjekket oss selv inn på overnattingsstedet, men vi var ikke på riktig sted, dette oppdaget vi når eier dukket opp, men maken til kundeservice og forståelse har jeg nesten ikke opplevd! Han sjekket litt og i løpet av meget kort tid fikk vi være på stedet.”
