“This cottage is much cuter than the pictures show. The setting on the river is beautiful and relaxing! We stayed for the Holland Tulip festival and the setting was the perfect retreat after a long day of walking and people. The house is comfortable and relaxing and provided everything we needed for our stay!”

“Overall this was a very nice stay for my family and dog, especially if you're just looking for a peaceful place to hunker down.The only things I would want anyone to know before booking is that the cabin is right up against some woods and, thus, bugs. My daughter found a tick on her and there were several stink bugs and prolly pollies trotting around. Not a big deal unless you have bug phobias. Also, the path to the house is not paved, so you may want to take that into account with your luggage……

“We were in town for the Tulip Festival, which we enjoyed! Traffic is rough on parade days. The VRBO is about 10 minutes from downtown Holland ,15 minutes to the tulip fields and 2 minutes from Lake Michigan.The home is very nice, large wooded yard, quiet neighborhood, gas grill on the wrap around deck. Large kitchen, 2 bedrooms upstairs, 1 on the main floor and 1 in the basement.We would stay again.”

“This home, is by far, one of the best rentals we’ve stayed in. It has everything and it was pristine clean. My husband and I brought our soon to be 16 year old daughter, and 3 of her friends for the weekend to celebrate her birthday for a weekend in September. “Lots of the reviews said something like "the best stocked rental house we've stayed out"...and that was exactly what we experienced. 2 kayaks, 3 SUPs, life jackets, plenty of nice beach chairs and umbrellas, well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and beach towels, soap/shampoo in both bathrooms...I could go on and on. “All aspects of this property met our expectations except for the bedroom situation. The property is listed as 5 bedrooms, but only one bedroom (new addition) has full walls. The other 4 bedrooms have open rafter ceiling which makes each room connected as far as noise is concerned. If you are traveling with other couples, this may not be advantageous. That being said, the location is great and the view from the deck is lovely. Jay is also a very gracious host. ”

“House was great, you can walk down the steps & literally get in the water of Lake Michigan. There are a lot of steps to get down there so not for someone with walking issues. “Captain's Cottage is super cute! The pictures really dont do it justice. We were a block from the beach. Snug Harbour and Noto's are a must for waterfront dining. Downtown had lots to offer as well and was walking distance to CC. We had to make a trip to Meijer...also very close...and was astonished at the cleanliness and upscale feel of this store. We had a great, although too short stay, at Captain's Cottage.”
