“Water temperature in the shower was warm enough but never got hot enough. Kitchen area was well stocked with cookingware and silverware. Overall a very nice place for the price with free parking around the hotel. We really appreciate the family-friendly atmosphere and family-run staff.”

“This was our first visit to Hawaii and we couldn't have found a better property to stay at. Secluded, quiet and well maintained. The River Cottage was so well equipped with kitchen ware, microwave, full oven, refrigerator and even Alexa for listening 🎧 to music at night on our Lanai. Paul the property manager was gracious and the cottage was immaculate. From this property, you are only five minutes by car away from Smith Family Farms where there is a 30 acre botanical garden and luau that runs……

“Kevin (the host) was very accommodating with our unique travel needs. The place was spacious, clean and provided lots of games, puzzles and beach items. Location was great, very short drive to the beach and to delicious resturants. We would definitely book this place again. ”

However, while described as "not a luxury stay", the unit is priced higher than similar units we saw at the complex with updated furnishings and a higher cleaning standard. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and needs replaced. Kitchen appliances and tools for food prep are in need of updating and refreshing. The owner's communication was excellent and it's clear she is a very responsible host. ”
