“We love this place. This was our second visit. It's great for fishing and crabbing. The home is clean, and there are plenty of activities to do at the house (kayaking, games, cornhole, firepit, etc. It is a short drive to the beach, to stores, and good restaurants if you want to venture out. It's an hour away from Houston. NASA is a fun day trip. We highly recommend the Lone Oak River Retreat.”

“Wonderful place to stay”

“Overall the house was great for 3/4 families with kids. The location to the beach was perfect -- very close. The "Cowboy" pool is perfect for kids 6 and under. The outdoor kitchen area downstairs would be really nice if it was a bit cooler. Communication with the owner/manager was easy and instructions were clear. The house could use some touch ups is my only gripe. 4.5/5 stars”

“Was easy to access and talking with the owner was simplistic! Walmart and anything you could possibly need is only 20 minutes away. They are correct when they say you need to bring your own water. Plenty of beds and room. We went to Yucca beach (15 per day to park) and also the free beach thats a couple of miles down the road. I recommend the free beach the beaches are the same and well its free, lol.At the beaches we saw crabs, baby sharks, hermit crabs, fish, and jellyfish.We will stay again.”

Nancy was the best host I have ever interacted with! The bedrooms were nice and roomy, the kitchen was very well equipped lots of extra amenities that you normally do not find in a beach house.
