“This rental was absolutely the perfect way to start out our Hawaii vacation. The gardens outside were absolutely beautiful and the view of the ocean couldn't be beat! We wish we had more time there to relax on top of all tourist stuff we did. The room was comfortable and matched the listing exactly.There is a short, steep hill that you need to climb to get to the unit (although you probably could have walked around the other house to avoid the hill) so be aware of you have mobility……

“We enjoyed the beautiful ocean sunrise sitting on the lanai while watching the birds fly from tree to tree. The sounds of frogs and birds abound in this lush environment. The cottage is well appointed and meets all your needs. ”

“Great central local position on a great quiet street. Bit warm downstairs as we couldn’t turn the fan on but have the light off at bedtime for the kids. Close to airport, shopping and places to eat. Place was very spacious. ”

“We had a wonderful stay; a great host and very welcoming. The scenery is breathtaking and serine, perfectly nestled within the trees. The front porch was our favorite spot for morning coffee and a good book. You’re a short distance away from downtown Hilo, hiking trails, waterfalls and a clear night sky. Absolutely can’t wait to plan a return visit! Thank you, Madeleine and Todd! ”

“Peaceful, beautiful surroundings. The host was friendly and made the most of our stay; close to Hilo but away from all the lights and noise; would like to return there someday!”

“The house is great. There was an issue which the owners took care of promptly. This place does not have a/c and that is likely my fault. I'm sure I just missed it in the listing. The house wasn't too warm during the day but cooled down and sleeping at night was perfect. It is close to Hilo town. It is close to a general store if you need something and walking distance from a beach that apparently has seals at it frequently. We did not see any this trip. We had the house to ourselves.……

“We have stayed here before and once again it was perfect. This is true old time Hawaii at its best. We ate all the fresh fruit that was waiting for us. For me, sitting on front porch, feeling the trade wind and hearing the sound of the sugar cane leaves dancing in the wind is as close to heaven on earth as you can get. Especially if you are eating a Malasada from Tex and drinking a cup of coffee. Fairy and Nico are the sweetest cats ever. We love them so much! Nico even joined us for a walk down……

“I was super excited to stay at this property. The pluses...the Koy pond. The fish are amazing and love to eat. Also, the sounds at night from nature. Would have been nice to have a lounger in the sun room rather than just chairs. Not many other pluses. We tried to get connected to Internet. The welcome book didn't seem to match the house. The descriptions were off. There were at least 5 remotes but none of them did anything. Only one turned off and on the TV. TV was activated through Roku.……
