“It was a great vacation spot for my daughter and I. We wanted privacy and quiet. We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is cozy and comes with everything you would need in household items. We enjoyed the deck. We saw deer in the morning and evening. Watched the fish jump in the pond. A relaxing vacation spot. Hoping to stay again next year. ”

“We really needed a break and a chance to unwind and Roger n Mary's place was the perfect place for it. We hiked, swam in the lake, watched the humming birds on the porch and got a good night's sleep every night. The house is lovely and accommodating and Roger n Mary are great hosts, making sure everything is right.”

“Beautiful historic home. Very clean, very comfortable. A/C works great, luxury bedding and inviting front porch to enjoy morning coffee. Host was easy to communicate with and check in/ check out was a breeze. Highly recommend & will stay here again next time we visit Marietta. ”

“Loved the peace, tranquillity this property offered. I loved this property and will stay there again. The bluebirds and deer were an added benefit. ”

“This property was huge in and out. We had more room inside than we needed and there were six of us. The outside fire pit and out building with a deck overlooking the river was a great spot for hanging out at night. The only issue we had was the upstairs toilet was not working at its best and the owner said it was most likely getting replaced. I will still give the property 5 stars because everything else was a plus and I would definitely rent again.”

“We loved our time at Hawk Retreat. It was very clean and decorated with charm. We felt secluded, but close enough to Athens that it was convenient to head into town for food and fun. We’ll be back!”

“Home was easy to find and in a cute neighborhood. Close to interstate & downtown. Very comfortable stay and owners have this home decorated very nicely. Felt right at home! Would highly recommend this property to anyone.”

“Spacious house with good amenities. The owner was very responsive to our needs and respectful of our privacy. It is a pleasant walk to downtown from the house. It is an old historic home which was fun to live in for a few days.”
