“A beautiful and well equipped log cabin on the side of a mountain. Very comfortable bed! The yard and the flower baskets were well cared for. Saw hummingbirds and Phoenix moths each morning. Turkeys visited a couple of times. We loved the different outdoor sitting areas. The breakfast nook was a special to eat looking out at the beautiful vista. You can also sit in living room and look out and see the mountains. Ouray is known as Little Switzerland of America. Surrounded by majestic mountains.……

Restaurants were within walking distance, and the house was in the middle of town so very convenient. We would definitely stay here again next time we are in Lake City. Also dog friendly was a big plus for us as we travel with our dogs so much. ”

“Jim’s property is the perfect place to stay in Lake City. We were only 3 people but this would be a great spot for a family gathering. I grew up in a historical part of CT so this home took me back to my childhood surroundings. We rode motorcycles there and Jim offered to bring over 3 pieces of wood for our kickstands to park in the wet gravel. He really went above and beyond and was a great host! Plenty of coffee and things to cook with if that’s important to you!”

“We loved the cabin, the view, the location and the nearby hikes! Watch for hidden driveways and maybe use low gear on the circular driveway to keep traction getting from the highway to the cabin. We had to back up to avoid hitting another car backing out of their driveway and low gear was the only way to get our vehicle up the hill and around the turn. It was pretty exciting, but others might appreciate a warning. ”

“We very much enjoyed this property as the perfect “base” for our family of four in Ouray. We enjoyed being able to walk everywhere and when we did need to drive parking right outside was very convenient. Communication with the owner was smooth and they were very responsive. Highly recommend. ”
