“Good space with lots of historical character. We used it well for our pre-xmas family gathering. Good location for downtown and the river walk. Comfortable beds, plenty of parking. Fairly well stock w/dishes, glasses, flatware, etc.Kind of sparsely decorated and the furniture is a bit too small for such large rooms. Could use spare chairs and blankets in the bedrooms. We stayed for two nights for a quick getaway for my husbands birthday and visited Silver Lake Sand Dunes (approx 40 mins away) and used the rowboat to enjoy Big Star Lake and do some fishing. “We stayed at Frank’s place the week of July 4th with our adult kids and grandkids. Loved the space outdoors with the big tree swing, large porch, fire pit and bball court. “The view was perfect and the house was the perfect accommodation for this group. The sprawling lawn was a nice bonus for playing games and getting sun. My suggestion would be to get more rugs for the deck as that deck gets way to hot and put in the ladder for use because it’s hard to get in and out of the river. It was nice that the boat had everything we needed in the kitchen. My only concern was how dusty it was. Overall great spot to go with a large group and friends!”

“Beautiful cottage, spotlessly maintained! 100% as described. Beautiful view of "the bayou" with the fall colors. 2 pair of binoculars available for bird watching was a great perk! We watched a snowy egret AND a bald eagle fishing in the waters...awesome! Only downside was lots of Canadian geese AND tons of their droppings down by the dock and fire ring which made us stay up closer to the house or our dog would have been rolling in it evey day. Hey, nature is nature! They were fun to watch……

“The Eagles Nest at the Blue Heron Resort on Diamond Lake is not for everyone but we loved it. I say not for everybody in part because you need to take a series of stairs including nearly 30 steps to reach the cabin from the parking space provided.
