“I had a short but great stay. The bed, including the pillows and sheets, were SO comfortable! I stayed on the East side but did not have any issues with the freeway noise. Light does get in around the curtains so maybe not the spot for those who need total darkness, but otherwise would definitely recommend. It was also nice to be close to many restaurants, coffee shops, etc.”

“Great place to stay in Del Mar! We are in Del Mar not infrequently for soccer tournaments. Not sure how we’ve never stayed here before. A bit dated, but tons of space, friendly staff, plenty of towels, directly on the beach, easy parking, walkable to all the cute shops and restaurants, and reasonably priced considering location and size of the apartment. Will absolutely book here again. ”

“The Buena Creek Refuge is indeed a beautiful refuge. We felt relaxed the moment we popped out of the cars. Nine of us spent 6 nights celebrating our 50th anniversary and visiting the area attractions. It was wonderful to have the Refuge to come home to rather than some hotel. The 2 grandkids loved the pool and climbing to the gazebo almost as much as Legoland. Great kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining areas and did I mention 5 king beds! Our host was easy to communicate with and I enjoyed all……

“This was our first family vacation since our almost 2 year old was born and we had a great time! The location is unbeatable! Just blocks from Balboa park, two playgrounds that are toddler appropriate, and tons of great coffee shops, restaurants, and breweries, with a target and grocery stores in walking distance. Once we arrived, we were able to do everything we wanted to do via stroller and public transit. The walk to the zoo and cultural areas is good exercise but very doable with a jogging……

“After staying in this casita I have to wonder why I need a big house! This casita was so comfortable for my husband and me….it had everything we needed for the 3 days we were there. Great location in a quiet neighborhood and the driveway accommodated our vehicle nicely.”
