“Beautiful old houses and fun to stay in the back apartment of the museum. Sad we missed the tour opportunity (ended three days before we checked in). We would stay there again. ”

“Wonderful stay! Six adults with a toddler and infant. Loved the open 1st floor, with exposure to the big outdoor deck and the lawn and river through the trees below. Very quiet, while being two blocks from the main street through town.”

“This property is a jewel. This is where they should have filmed "On Golden Pond." It is very private, yet only 20 minutes from I-95 and major supermarkets, etc. If you are looking for piece and quiet, security, a delightfully private pond and a stunning view of the opposite, natural, shoreline with no other cottages, this is your place! Beds are very comfortable with good quality linens and blankets. Kitchen is well equipped and the appliances are of very good quality. Plenty of wood is supplied……

“We had the greatest time up at great Ponds in this beautiful location. It was just as the pictures showed and was very pleased with the location in the privacy of it. We hope to come back again very soon.”

“This house was perfect for our family trip. We had another family with small children as well and they all had a great time. When we weren’t out at the dock or in the water there were lots of great kids books and games for them to play with and explore. The only “down” side was that while there is an AC cooling unit that you can move around the house itself isn’t. It got somewhat warm during the day but the cool nights helped a lot. We also loved being able to grill at night so that we didn’t……

“Lovely house & great location in charming Wiscasset. The clean house is very much like the pictures, although there is no pic of the shower, which is tiny & old (the glass stall is undersized and gerry-rigged w a shower curtain) But the shower itself is great pressure and plenty of hot water. It wasn’t a deterrent. We found the queen bed on 2nd floor and full on 1st. We will come again.”

“Great location, easy to walk to the General Store, Tubby’s and Farmer’s Market. From Wayne, it’s an easy drive to the coast or to the mountains for a hike. The house is clean and lots of room, as well as a spacious front deck looking out over Androscoggin Lake.”

“Good communication from host with all the details. Great view of the lake from backyard with firepit and grill. Can watch the sunsets also. Birds observed on the lake great egret and ducks. Good location to a number of golf courses. Route 197 diner and Dubois cafe short drive for group breakfast before tee time. Kitchen has everything to make a meal. Would be great next time to have a dish rack for those small items to hand wash and dry. Was able to take 10 second exposure shots of the night……

“Lovely updated older home. Excellent kitchens (yes - two!!), comfortable bedrooms, nice bathrooms - one with charming claw foot tub/shower. Very comfortable couch, sitting from and dining area for six. Marvelous screened in porch with ceiling fan. On a dead end street perfect for walking dogs. Close to Damariscotta. Responsive host. Clean charcoal Weber grill. Dishwasher, free laundry machines.”
