“Had a great five night stay. At check in we were greeted by Elsa and Alexandra at the reception desk. Both of these ladies are true ambassadors of the hotel and the island. They were so pleasant, informative and willing to go out of their way to ensure we were made aware of all important things like tours, car rental, in house needs, restaurants, shopping, etc. It was a great way to start our visit. “We liked the Casa da Contador very much. It’s an old school - an amazing building. We had a T1 suite which had a door separating a generous sized bed and bath from the kitchen/dining sofa room. Good sized closet. I am rating 4 stars due to a tiny bathroom that was difficult to maneuver and it being 41/2 flights up to the 2nd floor. Parking is easy enough to not be an issue. Breakfast was okay and nice to have.”

“O espaço do quarto é amplo, as camas são boas, a cozinha é completa e também há armários. Há estacionamento. É perto da praia. Minha nota não foi dez, pois é um pouco fora de Ponta Delgada, em área residencial. Não conseguimos usar a Jacuzzi. Quando fui usar na primeira vez, estava coberta. Entrei em contato e me disseram que eu deveria retirar a cobertura. Quando fui fazer a segunda tentativa, na véspera de ir embora, não funcionou. Retornei ao quarto e algum tempo depois me orientaram a dar um……

“The quality and size of the “apartments” (they’re basically houses, it’s great) is phenomenal for the price. To have a private back deck, many air conditioners, a kitchen, a nice bathroom, FOUR sets of sliding doors.. it was great. Friendly cats run the grounds, par for the course in Europe. Parking is a little tight and it’s in a quaint area of the island but those very small “negatives” are so heavily outweighed by the friendliness of staff, 24 hour pool and big clean rooms that it’s barely……
