“We had a wonderful stay at Tom and Sharon’s River House while in town for a family wedding. The drive was convenient to do all the Philadelphia sightseeing, and it was only a mile away from the wedding venue, which was the initial draw, but not the reason why this property stands out in our minds. I wish we had more time just to stay at the house and relax taking in the beautiful sights of the river. The living room is the reading space and we tried to wake up early just to relax and read in……

“We are two families and we very much enjoyed our stay at Mystic Island. First of all, the house is amazing. There's always something to do around the house so we spent a lot of time just relaxing. All of the amenities made that super easy as everything is clean and updated. The owners are also great and were super responsive. The location is also great where you can stay local and do things in town or by the marina (5-10 mins drive) or to some amazing beaches down by Long Beach Island or AC……

“The location of this property is fantastic. We explored the nature refuge, historic Smithville, and Atlantic City. The drives to each were easy and within 25 minutes. Before checking out we walked the well maintained trails along the lake. The only issue was the bugs. (Expected during the summer - check for ticks.)The rental was clean and comfortable. Check in and communication with the host was quick and easy. ”

“The house needs a lot of work. Smells really musty, parts of backyard fence were down so couldn’t let dog out alone. There was no grill (listed in amenities) in backyard but there was an old toilet on its side and a can of spray foam with the foam leaking out. Lots of patches and thing’s attached using duck tape.”
